How do i use Hypersnap to take screenshots, in windows media player, WITHOUT the backgroun

Previously i was able to do this....but at some point it seems i am no longer able to do so.
In windows media player when you play, for example, a movie, there will be the movie itself and the(By default) black background. Heres an example of a screenshot i took using hypersnap 6.82.01  on win 7, using the "window or control" capture option :

Hypersnap captured the image, but also the black background. I didnt change any settings, etc, and it used to be able to capture the image ONLY without the black background. So how do make hypersnap capture the image only, without the black background, in windows media player?

You could use Capture/Region function of HyperSnap, and outline the area where the movie picture is, excluding the black background. Or you could later, after the capture, use Image/Crop function to cut out and keep only what you need.

If you use Capture/Region function or Ctrl+Shift+R hot key combination to outline the movie only, and later want to capture another frame, you may use "Repeat Last Capture" function or hot key - it will capture the same are as the Region capture, so it will work right if you did not move or resize the Media Player window.

I know what you mean, ive tried those options, but its not very precise(i could just use print screen + paint to acheive the same effect, if i manually select the area)...previously ctrl+shift+w(window) was able to precisely capture the movie only, WITHOUT the black background...but for some reason now it can't do this.

    How do i fix it?

Edit : For example lets say i have a video in 640x480. I want to screencap ONLY that 640x480 portion, without the black background in windows media player. Previously i was able to do this....ctrl+shift+w was able to differentiate between the 640x480 video portion when i moused over, and the black background. Infact heres a picture that i took using the expired trial version...hypersnap only screencapped the relevant 640x480 portion in windows media player.

Previously Windows Media Player was a different program, Microsoft updated it and now it works differently... Here is how I was able to do what you ask for:

    - Right-click WMP window, in the middle of the movie, and from the menu that appears, select "Video" sub-menu, then "Fit Player to video" option.
    - Now, assuming that HyperSnap is running, press Ctrl+Shift+C key combination to capture the client area of the active window. Precisely 640x480 pixels area or the inside of Media Player is captured, what you wanted. Assuming that you have the Media Player menu hidden, otherwise it would be captured too.

I understand what you are saying, but the thing is, i didnt update WMP at all. Its still on version 12. I dont understand why ctrl+shift+w simply stopped working.

The method you suggested works, the only downside is i have to wait several seconds everytime i pause the video for WMP to auto-hide the controls(or hypersnap will screenshot the controls as well, blocking the video).

Edit : Okay seems it doesnt work that well after all. This is what happens, i tab back to WMP, start playing the video, pause, wait for the controls to auto-hide, and use ctrl+shift+c to take a screencap.

Hypersnap then takes a screenshot that is 59 pixels in height when the video(and player) has a current height of 720 pixels. To actually get it to take the screenshot properly i need to tab out of WMP and tab back in again. Whats going on with that?

I really don't know what is going on there, would have to actually sit by that machine to test this. Media Player has many different modes of working. I think that the best solution is to capture the first image manually, using Region capture and being careful to outline exactly what you need. Then for subsequent captures, assuming you did not move or resize WMP window, just use "Repeat Last Capture" function or hot key and you'll capture what you want quickly and easily.
