Weekday names getting extended

Whenever my app comes across "sat" it reads it as "Saturday", regardless of casing. I cannot find where this is set, and I've checked the custom word readings.

    This is a known problem with Google Text-to-speech UK English voices. We and many customers notified Google about this problem many times, but in their supreme arrogance they ignore us. The only solution - use other non-Google TTS voices (e.g. Vocalizer TTS, Acapela TTS or others available in Google Play store). This is the best solution, as there are other problems with Google TTS voices as well.
    Or if you must stay with Google TTS product, switch to e.g. Australian English, US English or other English voices.
