Record the audio from your computer without using a microphone
There is this older FAQ article about recording audio directly, without going through the microphone here:
http://hyperionics.com/hc2/faqs.asp#SoundDirect Recently our user found another way to record audio directly, for computers that don't have "Stereo Mix" or similar input channel. It a free (donations appreciated by the authors) software named VB Audio Cable, from:
http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Cable/ The user also directed me to this video, which explains the setup in a nice visual way:

after extracting make sure you select either 32 bit or 64 bit for windows 10 and run as administrator
in windows sound playback/recording devices make default playback the audio cable input and default recording device the audio cable output
important to do the - check the listen box so its ticked - choose via speakers - option in properties of audio cable output in recording devices
once completed just keep hypercam2 audio input as 'default recording device' because the default recording device is now vb-audio
vb-audio cable replicates stereo mix as sound recording device default instead of using a physical audio patch cable and its really only needed for someone like myself who doesnt have stereo mix available in recording audio devices windows list
