I can´t upload snapshots to a ftp server

In the last weeks I couldn´t upload snpashots to any free servers, so finally I decided to buy an account of hosting in aruba.it but now I´m trying to upload snapshotsw and I can´t upload.

I obtain the error window:

"
HyperSnap 8
Error uploading file
El área de datos transferida a una llamada del sistema es demasido pequeña
(a fasts translation would be The data area transfered to the system is too small )
200 TYPE is now 8-bit binary
200 PORT command successcul
553 Can´t open that file: Permision denied
"

I think that would be a good choice that customesr of Hypersnap may buy an account of ftp to upload images with the hypersnap license, to solve this kind of problems.

Thank you very much.

My dear Rafa,
apart from the actual error to which Greg may have a solution for and despite the fact, that obviously the ftp-server has its limits and limitations you expect ab tiny bit too much.
Hyperonics is a one-man-company and the software costs around $40, valid as long as a version is available, be it one year or seven years.
In your last line you make it sound like having a HS-license gets you an ftp-server cheaper. But someone has to pay for the difference.
See line beginning with Hyperionics...
1+1=...
Apart from that check, where you store the images on your harddrive If it is somewhere near the programs folder, the error may have to do with that. Try to use an folder within My Pictures and see, if it works.
Good luck
Thomas

Tom, What I said was a suggestion to make easy to the user uploading images to the web and obtaining the link in the clipboard to use with Ctrl+V.

What I said was a sugeestion:
Do you want buy the HS? you pay the license
Do you want buy the HS and an space of 1 GB in a server to be able to upload snapshotss? you pay the license + the rights of use the ftp. and you are very gratefull because it was easy finding the we3b-space to upload the images :-)

Best Regards.

Hello Rafa,

please accept my apologies as I obviously did not understand, what you wanted to express.
Regrettably, I still have trouble following your wordflow and correctly understand, what you mean, especially your last paragraph. Judging your name and Auntie Google - as well as you quoting Spanish server messages -, I guess you are from a Spanish speaking country.
Maybe there is a Spanish speaking forum member who could send you a PM and you can exchange explanations and clarifications.
Apart from that please read the help file, Menu FILE, entry UPLOAD. It explains some of the specific requirements and automations of HyperSnap to successfully upload to an ftp-server. There are tipps for getting the inserting link automatically and more.

Please tell me exactly what kind of a plan did you buy at aruba.it, where to click to buy it as well, and then exactly what you did to upload files there. I need to reproduce the error in order to understand it.

Dear Greg, the plan I bought (exclusively for use with hypersnap) is
http://hosting.aruba.it/en/hosting/linux-basic.aspx
( with a domian offer .eu for 0.99€/year)

I clicked on a promotional link, for the ARAGON SUPERBIKES RACE, because aurba is an sponsor.

When I try to upload files I do exactly the same than before in another free ftp servers, till these ftp-server- close the free access.

FILE  / UPLOAD / UPLOAD FTP SERVER / ( I put the ftp name and the login/pw ) / Click on UPLOAD   /

afther thesee in the last weeks I obtain the snapxxxxx.jpg uploaded in the ftp server and the link in the clipboard.
This is so useful for me.

Best Regards.

Rafa.

No problem Tom :-)

I  had uploaded so many images in the last weeks till the square7.ch don´t let me more free ftp use. So, finally I decided to buy  hosting and a domain in aruba.it only for uploading captured images with the HS-8. I configure the FTP server name, the login, the pw, but I  have an error. In the past, I could obtain the link in the clipboard.

Best Regards.

FYI, or anyone reading these messages and facing a similar problem:

After a few email exchanges with Rafa we managed to sort it out. The FTP server Rafa is using, is putting the connected user into the system root directory (named just "/" on Linux), where the user has no write permission and cannot save any files there. We needed to type the correct path/filename instead of just filename into the "Remote file name (may contain path/name):" field of HyperSnap FTP window, and then it worked correctly.

Also, another obstacle we faced was telling Windows Firewall that HyperSnap can connect to the Internet - through Control Panel - Windows Firewall - Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall.
