Capture & Open file use 2 instances of HS8. How to force only one instance?

HS version 8.05.00 64 bit, Windows 7 Pro
All images that I capture go to one instance.
All images I open from Explorer are opened in a 2nd instance.
I'd like to use only one instance for everything.

The shortcut that I use to initially open HS8 does not have the '-newwin' option.

TIA

Strange, I just tested this here, works correctly, just one instance. Do you have maybe HyperSnap 7 and HyperSnap 8 installed on your system, and you use one of them, while the other is set up to open the files from Explorer? Or are the two windows exactly the same version? Maybe you have HyperSnap - same version, but installed in two places, two directories, and one of them is set up for file opening? I don't know what else could cause this.

Hint: I usually don't set my copy to open files with Explorer double-click. Instead, if I want to open graphics files in HyperSnap from Explorer, I just drag them from there to HyperSnap window.

I can only find one installation of HS8 on my PC.
When I originally installed it, HS7 was still installed and caused a similar issue. I uninstalled HS7.
When I have some time I may try to uninstall / reinstall HS8
