Is it possible to disable software updates completely? (site license)

We have just received our site license for Hypersnap 7 and I'm looking at a large scale deployment of the application (v7.29). I see that the command line parameters "allusers" (install for all users), "nodeskico" (no desktop icon) and "s" (silent install) are available, so that takes care of a few things. Update checking and/or update notifications are my next concern - I understand that I can disable the update auto-check by setting the "VerCheckDays" value in the configuration file to "0" but is there any way to disable the update mechanism completely (perhaps greying-out the actual "Software Updates" menu item as well)? I see a mention of this in the forum post (m=10601) "Change update notification frequency"

Any advice is much appreciated.

Dean,
please contact me by email, and also include your license key in the message. I need to test this and send you complete instructions on how to do this.

Try this. I got help from the administrator & it worked for me... (Thanks: Administrator)

1. disable automatic version checks and showing the message:

Under the key:
                HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Hyperionics\HyperSnap 8\Vcheck
create a REG_DWORD value named VerCheckDays and set it to 0 (zero).

2. To hide the “Software updates“ button:

Under the key:
                HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Hyperionics\HyperSnap 8\Window
Create a REG_SZ value named RemoveCmds and set its value to 40082
