Hi Bruce,
I am not sure, I can follow you. You clear the recent history (all files) - which apparently works.
As soon as you use the open or save dialogue the standard window opens and shows all existing files in the standard directory.
And then the word pulldown gave me the hint, where to look. I always use dropdown for these arrows, so I connected the File menu with the word pulldown.
When you click on the down arrow in the filename field, you get a list of filenames together with their respective directories. This appears to be a feature of Windows, not of HyperSnap, as it works with Word, too.
OK, I FOUND it. Windows keeps a MRU list for files opened or saved. This is outside HyperSnap and works with all applications. To get rid of this list, you'll have to tweak the registry. Please google for MRU list file dialogue or similar.
But be aware, that a deactivation of the MRU affects EVERY file open and save dialogue.
