not holding settings after updates? (text, and color??)

hs7
i do the periodic updates.

between updates, and sometimes even between restarting, some settings revert to a default

TEXT, show imediately on screen when typing, this constantly disappears, i have to re-check the box

Also, foreground/background color, even between pictures, reverts to clear foregbround for fill, i want to change it to black (OR, have it REMAIN at the last-used-color), but every time I draw a filled rectangle, if going to new image, i have to re-select the fill color.

what am I missing??

thanks
NIck

Hi Nick, until Greg comes up with a better idea, try HS with the parameter -ra. This forces HS to remeber, keep and use the last used settings. Hope, it works. Thomas, lesser Admin (who can't do returns on this laptop)

The more things stay, the more they change the sane.

I cannot reproduce the problem of "update text immediatelly" turning itself off - tried updating etc. and all possible combinations. If you click it accidentally to turn off, it remains off until turned on again. If you come up with a specific operation sequence to reproduce this, please tell me.

There is a "push-pin" button on the color section of the ribbon - make sure it's pushed-in (vertical) to keep color settings the same for all images and between program runs. If you however come up with a specific operation sequence that changes them when not intended, please let me know. However, new captures come up with background color and opacity, set on the "Capture Settings" (big button found the "Capture" ribbon tab). Maybe this is not correct and drawing background/fill color should be still kept the same as in the previous image on a new capture? Let me know what you think of this, and I can modify the program...

Oh, the -ra command line option won't affect all of the above. It's only for certain specific options that otherwise are reset to default, e.g. auto-insert a stamp... Otherwise some people accidentally set this up, forget it and then complain that the program is boken...

    thanks for replies.

I will experiment, I found the checkbox for "same color for all images".
    I'll work with that.

    QUESTION
do these settings get saved in hte INI files (save configuration, READ configuration)??  I still use these profiles, they make an easy way for changing quick-save paths, etc.
    thanks

The settings are saved automatically in the registry, and upon a click on "Save CFG" button (on SETUP ribbon tab) to .ini file. Yes, color settings etc. are also saved there, everything.
