You can get back your old design almost completely and reduce the ribbons, too. Klick on the UP-arrow next to the magnifying glass.
As for your problem with horizontal strips, please explain, what you WANT to achieve, what you do and which movements and clicks you use. Cutting out strips works perfectly on any machine I ever used it on.
Thomas
Lesser Admin
Re:"Cut out strip" cut out more than I hi-lited (Support)

1) The ribbon is really better for HyperSnap 7, cuts down the trip time to select different functions a lot. However you can still switch the program to the old menu/toolbars interface, see "Setup" tab of the ribbon, mark "menu" check-box there. You can further adjust what you see or not either on "Setup" ribbon tab, or under "View" menu, after switching to the menu interface. Personally, I can hardly stand menus any more in HyperSnap, if I have to test them, I quickly switch back to the ribbon for regular work, much faster that way.

2) See image below:

There is a similar button on the old style "Drawing toolbar", if you switch to menus and enable drawing toolbar.

Greg
"Cut out strip" cut out more than I hi-lited (whfreund)

I just upgraded from my version 6 license to 7.13.01 and I have just "backed down" due to the following:
When I tried to use the "Cut out strip > Horizontal" tool to remove a portion of a capture from the
middle of the image the tool removed all of the image from the top edge of my starting point. I tried
several times with the same result. Other comments are:
1) I am disappointed that you felt that you had to "ribbonize" the latest version; this microsoft
"innovation" is the biggest productivity killer I have ever encountered. Anyone ever heard of the
phrase "if it ain't broke don't fix it" ???
2) ... in the process it was not able to locate the "View Only Mode" plain white arrow; rather than
waste any more time I simply un-installed 7.13.00 and re-installed

Please provide this additional data:
Exact HyperSnap version in use (from Help/About menu): _7.13.00_____
Windows version in use: _Win 7 Pro__
