There is an option in the capture tab: Save... only, if file has changed". If you uncheck, it should work. I made a capture, path was copied. I repeated the capture, file got another filename (incrementing) with the exact capture and the path was copied again.
If you save a picture after editing with the same name, the path information stays correct as no change in the filename.
If you save to another filename, the info gets copied into the clipboard again.
And ditto is just great.
Thomas
Lesser Admin
Re:Saved image path in clipboard (TomD101)

Hello xbeta,
I am not sure, I understand, what you need, but here's a tip from me.
First, the option "copy file- and pathname to clipboard" can only work after saving. Here's an example, provided the quicksave option and the copy to clipboard-option is activated:
I do a screenshot.
If quicksave is activated, the complete path and filename are immediately copied to the clipboard. I use a clipboard manager, so I see, what happens in the clipboard.
As soon as the path is copied, you can insert it whereever you want. It will be the path to the original filename, no temp folder.
But you have to save the file first, either with quicksave or a controlled save as. ONly after saving the file is created and can be shown in the clipboard.
Hope it helps. If not, please give a detailed description of the steps you do and what you want to achieve.
Thomas
Lesser Admin
Re:Saved image path in clipboard (xbeta)

note: this post has been updated after TomD101's 2 replies. Thank you TomD101.

HerperSnap provide good feature for copy path when save/ save as/ auto save/ ftp upload.
If you use the path just after these action (with the correct configration), it's OK.

If the clipboard has been changed by other operation after the save/ftp-upload, we can use some clipboard manager (eg. Ditto) to find the copied path. or re-save the image. (Note: There is an option in the capture tab: "Save... only, if file has changed". If checked, the HyperSnap will be smart, if it find no change on the image, there will be no save, so no path in clipboard).

If the user needs the path just for paste it in browser upload address bar, he can also:
check "copy format / html "; in current image , press ctrl+c ; press ctrl+v in another application address; upload. Although not the origin path, but the same image will be uploaded.

We know, there is a perfect and most flexible way: provide a hotkey to get the current file path. (eg, in IrfanView, press P get it. ) So the users can do it when they want.

Before HyperSnap has this feature, we can use nircmd.exe as the solution (see image below), and assign a shortcut key to it. Sure, this method can be applied to all software which support external tools.

Re:Saved image path in clipboard (Support)

How do you save your images? Locally on the disk or network drive using File/Save As command in HyperSnap? Or via an FTP transfer? if using File/Save As, note the "Copy file path to clipboard" check-box at the low left corner of "Save As" window. If over FTP, note the "Copy link text to clipboard" check-box near the bottom of "Upload to FTP Server" window of HyperSnap.

Greg
Saved image path in clipboard (arjfca)

Hello

I thought I had read somewhere that it is possible to get the path address of a saved image in the clipboard. I'm looking for an easy solution to import image on a blog

Martin

Please provide this additional data:
Exact HyperSnap version in use (from Help/About menu): ____6.91.02__
Windows version in use: 7 64______
