Show images in PDF file?

This is a great app. Very helpful and flexible when reading anything.  I use it all the time.

Is there a way to show images in the app with of a PDF file? I've seen images before when reading web pages, but I can't get them to show on my PDF.  This PDF for exmaple: https://unchained-capital.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Enders-Game-White-Paper-Public.pdf

It would be useful to see the figures and images in the app so I don't have to switch apps while reading.  Is this possible or not really becasue of the PDF format?

So far I can show bitmap images embedded in PDF (e.g. PNG, JPEG - photo like images), but not vector graphics. It's simply so damn difficult to know what is what in a PDF file. They have basic drawing primitives like lines, curves, filled shapes - where exactly starts and ends the drawing, and which lines or filled shapes are instead part of the page (e.g. underlined words, dividers on page, shaded areas etc.), it is impossible to know. I could maybe do this, if you'd be willing to go through the pages of the PDF and manually mark rectangles where the images you want to include into @Voice extraction are. It would be similar to what the "manually crop pages" interface in @Voice does.

Ok I understand it's not possible to identify only the vector images the user would want to see, without them manualy selecting them.

Do you think you could make a "View text in original file" option? Where the user could select a piece of text and then that text would be shown in the original document, in a pop-up or split screen? So like if I highlight "Figure 5" it would open up the original PDF to that page so I can see the image.

You could just as well start reading aloud in @Voice app, then open your PDF in any good PDF viewer and observe the text and drawings on the screen there, while @Voice read aloud in the background.

    That takes a lot longer.

    1. Highlight text
    2. Click copy
    3. Open PDF file in PDF reader
    4. Select "Search"
    5. Paste the text
    6. Click search and hope it's the same text in the original document, and the text is unique

    1. Highlight text
    2. "View text in original file"
PDF opens to where you want.

Yes, it's not optimal. Maybe one day I will do better PDF reader. However, you can easily find the page by page number in any PDF viewer. And to see in @Voice app on which PDF page you are (provided that you extracted text in @Voice to HTML/EPUB format, which is the default), press the big round button at top-left, then PAGES tab - you'll see text like "Current page is 34 of 275". Then go to page 34 in your PDF viewer.
