Saving blank files

In the past, when I saved a file, a single file such as 1315.png was saved. In the last few months, every file saved includes two, one png, one with no extension. The thumbnail of the file without extension appears as a blank page. I was poking around my setup trying to solve another problem so I might have changed something inadvertently. Is there a setting I should change to stop the blank files from being created?

    I really don't know what happens there. HyperSnap does not save two files, when you press the File menu - Save As, or the "Save As" icon in the top toolbar, it saves only one file with the exact name and extension selected on the File/Save As dialog box. I cannot even force the program in any way to do such double saving. If you click something else to make this happen, tell me exactly what and where do you click.

    I didn't intentionally change anything and I haven't changed procedures. It just started happening a few months ago. Happens whether I save an individual file or save all.
