I can't get license key into HS8

I have a new computer. I use HS8 on my previous computer, with my HS7 license key. I downloaded and installed HS8, but I can't enter my license key. I've tried all the options: copying it to the clipboard and opening HS, reading it from a file (both .txt and Word), reading from an email. Nothing happens. I've copied the license key, from the Begin line through the End line, but when I go to "Type in a license manually," Paste is inactive. I can paste other copied text there, but not the license key.
 
Am I doing something wrong, or will this installation of HS8 not recognize my HS7 license key?
 
Update: Hyperionics support let me know that my HS7 license is too old to work with HS8, so I bought an HS8 license. I appreciate their help.

    Please contact me directly by email and send a copy of the license key you are using now. I can then investigate the issue.
