Pronunciation based on Context

I'm using one of the Google, United Kingdom, en-gb Voices. In the following text, "lead" appears twice. The frst time it should be produced "led", the second as "leed" but both times @Voice reads them as "leed". Is there a way round this, without creating a special case?

    There is no way to make a distinction between the two without a human level of understanding the context. Usually this does not bother me - I think of automatic reading as being similar to reading with your eyes. You see the same spelling "lead" in the context, but your brain distinguishes between the two easily and makes you "hear internally" a different word. After a while your brain gets trained to do reading with your ears in a similar way.
     
    Rules could be written for a limited number of cases, e.g. to read the word differently if proceeded by a pronoun. But it could be also proceeded by names of people, groups, nations... Infinity of cases.
