Upgrade from 8.14 or 8.15 to 8.16 loses Customisations

I have just upgraded Hypersnap from 8.14 to 8.16 and I lost my customisations for the ribbon..
I reverted to 8.14 again and they came back.
I upgraded to 8.15 and they were still there.
I upgrade to 8.16 and they were lost again.
Is this a bug in the upgrade process or do I have to totally uninstall and then install 8.16 as a fresh install?
Cheers
Steve

This is the correct behavior, the old toolbars are depreciated and disabled with the modern ribbon interface. The reason is that they slow the program very much if your Windows system gets patched to the recently discovered Meltdown/Spectre vulnerabilities. They are still available if you switch the program to menu mode (on the Setup ribbon tab), but not recommended due to the slowdowns.

All the functions and more that were on the old toolbars are available on the ribbon, often in more powerful versions.

    OK, thanks

I shall upgrade to 8.16 again and apply my customisation to the ribbon if I can.

I grab an awful lot of screen images that have white text on a black background, so all I want to have is an easy click to "greyscale" + "invert colours" + "copy" and "print"  functions.

    Hi Steve,

you can extend your quick access toolbar with most of the commands in the various ribbons. Just click on the dropdown arrow and select customize tool bar. Select the ribbon that includes the command you need and place it in the toolbar. You can even switch positions to have your most important commands in the order you want.

AND you can use shortcuts with the ALT-key.

Have HyperSnap open and press ALT. All ribbons will show a letter. Press the letter and the ribbon appears, showing more letters for each command.

So, ALT + P + CI (sorry, I have a German surface, so I am not sure) should immediately invert colors.

Drop a line, if that works (at all and for you).

Please note that you have to click above the ribbon to activate the ALT-key again. It does not react, if you are in the active ribbon.
