How do I change the default Save location?

Sorry, but I am sure that I am seeing it but not recognizing it. I thought there would be a Preferences in File or in Options.
Thanks

Just save something to your new default directory, the next "Save As" operation in HyperSnap will default to that new location.

Unfortunately this only works for the current session. At least, that is what I see: I have 'auto save' enabled. Indeed when I use 'Save as', it keep saves to the new location from that moment onward. But when I exit the program, the next time it saves to the old location again. Very frustrating. Can I change this somewhere? Also: the 'auto save' saves to png files but without the .png filename extension. Thus windows doesn't know which program to use to open it. Is there a way to change this too?

I cannot reproduce any of the problems you describe. If I turn on auto-save to PNG, the file names have .png extension. If I use File/Save As and save to a different directory, new images upon next "Save As" operation default to that new directory. Of course if you try to save an image that was already saved elsewhere by automatic saving, the default folder and name in Save As will be that of the already saved file.
