32 and 64 bit, can BOTH be installed?

greg,
can both the 32 bit and teh 64 bit be installed together (different folders), so that I can run EITHER version?
I use the 32 bit, due to scanner driver, etc (no 64-bit one available for my scanner)
but I'd like to try the 64-bit when I do batch scaling operations, to see if it goes faster.
but I don't want it to pop up when my wife starts it (I want the 32 bit one as primary), because of the scanner
thans

Yes, they can be installed in different folders, I use them that way all the time on the same machine, for testing, driver issues etc.

WHAT FOLDER to install the 64-bit to?
since 32-bit is installed, the installer wants to install program to the "program....x86" folder.
should I force the 64-bit to go to
    C:\Program Files\Hypersnap 8    folder,
or do they co-exist in same folder?

On Windows system you may install programs wherever you want, but the default location are under "C:\Program Files" for 64-bit apps, and "C:\Program Files (x86)" for 32-bit apps. HyperSnap installer will propose these default locations, but the user can change them.

SEE question below, BUT I answered it myself.  I set up batch as below, and ran it in a folder of about 10 ...JPG files.
WOW, WHAT a difference when running the 64 bit version versus the 32 bit version, for this batch mode to scale pictures !!!
the command line file clicked off rapidly, i did not see any destination pictures in the folder, but then they suddenly appeared, 8 of them, and the other two rapidly followed !
It ran well from the portable folder, using the command line below, pointing to the super-folder start file

    EXXCELLENT !

    ok
    one final question
    i created, for portable installation,
C:\Users\user01\PortApps2\HyperSnap 8-x64    directory.  I pointed to this directory to install, and your program created a subfolder, HyperSnap 8
BUT, in the HyperSnap 8-x64 directory, is the startHS8.exe file.

    that starts the program
BUT, if I use this as a BATCH file, will this line work
    for %f in (*.jpg) do start/wait "x" "C:\Users\user01\PortApps2\HyperSnap 8-x64\StartHS8.exe" -open "%f" -scale:70 -save:jpg:q90 "c:\zzWorking\HyperSnap\zzScaled_%f"

since the actual program tha is hypersnap is the C:\Users\user01\PortApps2\HyperSnap 8-x64\HyperSnap 8\HprSnap8.exe  program
but if i start that one, i get "unregistered" (whereas the StartHS8.exe does NOT state "unregistered")

ONE MORE final (final) question -
do the REGISTRY settings for 32 bit and 64 bit stay separate, OR do they co-exist (one overwrites the other)?
I did try the 64 bit, and it seemed to mess up the settings/icons/etc that I had in the menu for the 32 bit ??
or did i just mess something up?

The registry settings are the same for 32-bit and 64-bit.
