When I hit the shift key the Region Capture cross comes out no matter in other software

Probably misconfigured hot keys for TextSnap capture. On TextSnap tab, click "Hot keys" button, then under "Quick Text Capture Mode" remove check-mark from "Shift" box and any other boxes that are there, click Close and it should be OK.
