Trouble with white text

I suppose I should be ashamed to admit that I'm using a version of HyperSnap as old as 6.91.03 (under Windows Vista), but it continues to serve my purposes admirably.

My problem is that, when I try to place white text against a dark background, nothing shows.  I can specify 'pale yellow,' and that works pretty well, but it's not as snappy as pure white popping out of dark gray or black.  All palette colors work fine except for white.  Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Maybe you have defined white as the color to be made transparent?

Greg, you hit the nail on the proverbial head.  Now I understand... it works... thanks very much.
