Try "Extended Active Window Capture" in HyperSnap - Ctrl+Shift+X is the default hot key - and enter the width and height you need. Works on most, but not all hardware configurations, guess it depends on the graphics card drivers and the actual code of the target program, if it will let you capture beyond the screen area.

Hello Paul,
another option is Strg-Shift-G. It requires a vertical scrollbar in the area you want to capture. It is not possible to use a horizontal scrollbar. If you need more width than on the screen, use the method, Greg proposed.
User Strg-Shift-G
Draw a rectangle
The cursor changes to a cross.
Go to the lower arrow of the scrollbar
Click on the arrow
If coding of target program allows, screenshot will scroll down until end or ESC is pressed.
There is a description in the HyperSnap manual. Look at Capture - Capture Region with Scrolling.

The CTL+Shift+X works.  Why not make it auto scroll like up and down works?

Auto-scroll in just one direction (down) is full of problems already. Making it scroll both ways would complicate matters a thousandfold. Extended capture (Ctrl+Shift+X) works on a completely different principle.
