Why not real textsnap?

Have been using HyperSnap for many years. Was sad to see OCR end. At the time I ask how Microsoft's Onenote could do OCR but HyperSnap could "no longer" do it. Got no answer. Now I have found another product "Snap 8" from Ashampoo that does OCR and other things that Hypersnap does. Capture2Text is an open source (SourceForge) program which can do OCR from any rectangle of the screen. I like Hypersnap otherwise. My question is still Why can't Hypersnap do OCR?

I tested the free OCR package (Tesseract) that Capture2Text uses, and found out that it made a lot of errors recognizing characters on screen captures. It was a few years ago, maybe Tesseract was improved since then.

I also looked for commercial software packages that do good OCR, but the good ones are very expensive to license - not only a one time purchase, but also want money for every download of the software that uses their OCR components.

Yes, why not look at Tesseract now. Sure that your customers want some OCR as opposed to none.
