HS7Setup.exe will not launch.

My downloaded HS7Setup.exe will not launch. I downloaded it from both English sites with the same results.
This will be the first installation of HS on my laptop. I am running Windows Vista with Bitdefender virus protection. I am using Chrome as my internet browser.
Please advise,
Nell Everett

Do you have any error messages when you try to launch it? If so, what is the exact text of the message? Also, what is the exact size, in bytes, of the downloaded HS7Setup.exe? I could compare it with the original and know at least if the entire file is downloading to your machine, or if it is cut short or something. Also look at the Bitdefender virus protection logs - is there anything there about HS7Setup.exe? Sometimes different anti-virus programs have "false positives" and block harmless programs.

I just downloaded it myself and tested, no problems here.

The downloaded files should be 9,363,704 bytes long, so 9,145 Kb is not very precise, but looks about right. I don’t know what else to try – maybe reboot your computer to see if this will clear some strange condition? Also try to clear your browser’s cache and download it again – maybe a damaged copy was cached locally. It could be also that a damaged copy is cached on a server near you, maybe on your Internet provider server. I don’t know how to clear this, other than waiting for a day or two, until hopefully they delete the cached copy or update it.

You could also check the consistency of the file with the free WinRar or rar.exe utility from http://www.rarlab.com/ - if you install WinRAR, you could right-click HS7Setup.exe in Windows Explorer, choose “Open with WinRAR” and see if it opens the file and displays its contents correctly. RAR format is similar to ZIP, only better compression. If using command line utility, rar.exe, you could type inside Command Prompt window, after changing to the directory where HS7Setup.exe is saved, a command:
                     rar v HS7Setup.exe
    to see the contents, or:
                     rar t HS7Setup.exe
to test the consistency. The “t” command should display the following if all is correct:

You may then extract the files to a temporary directory, and run “setup.exe” from there – this would have the same effect as normal installation.
