How to use "Edit Speech" feature of @Voice Aloud Reader and TTS+ Plugin

In @Voice, press menu – Settings – Edit Speech. In TTS+ Plugin, expand the speech control panel at the bottom, press "More..." button, then scroll up if necessary and press "Edit speech" at bottom right.

You’ll see a black panel, saying “English speech edit” at the top. If you need to edit speech for some other language, press the globe icon at the top and select your language.

Press the “+” button to add speech replacement. For the “Type” choose either “Case Insensitive” (recommended) or case sensitive. For example, if you would like the first name “Greg” replaced by “Gregory” when spoken, but only when it’s written as “Greg” and not “greg” or “GREG”, then choose “Case sensitive”. The 3rd option there (RegEx) is for more advanced use, you could read “regular expressions” or RegEx reference on the web to learn about it. It is rather complex, but powerful.

In the “Pattern” field enter the word (or words) that should be replaced. For our example above, enter just Greg (no quotes around).

In the “Replace” field enter how the word should sound, e.g. Gregory. Test by pressing the speaker icon on right. The bigger “Test” field is for situations where you’d like to test this e.g. in a context of a sentence – enter the sentence containing the “pattern” word and press the speaker icon.

Remember that any speech replacements here work only within the context of single sentences. You cannot replace multiple sentences or paragraphs in this way.
