Pressing "Print Screen" won't open HyperSnap, and Office 2010 skin has bugs

I installed HyperSnap on a PC using Office 2010, and so the default skin was for Office 2010. However, with this option, all my menu tabs that are translucent eventually lose the text on the menu items (File, Capture, Edit, Image, Setup & Help), so you don't know what each item is until you click the tab. Using Office 2010 as the skin also causes older snap tabs to re-arrange themselves in a "stack," so to speak, where each one is not displayed fully. I leave HyperSnap open all the time, and so I had to change the skin to Office 2007. I would like it to work for Office 2010, but 2007 will do for now.

Also on my other PC, any time I had HyperSnap open but minimized, if I clicked on "Print Screen" on my PC, HyperSnap would automatically capture the entire screen but it doesn't do it on my other machine that has Office 2010 on it. Can you please advise what the settings should be so that pressing Print Screen will actually open up in HyperSnap?
Once I changed the skin to Office 2007, pressing Print Screen now opens up in Hypersnap.
Thanks,
Ruth

    Hi,
maybe that depends on the "theme" settings of your Windows Vista, 7 or 8 settings... I see that the tabs are slightly translucent on my Win7 machine, but nothing that would prevent me from reading them. Anyway, I don't have much control over these skins, they come from a 3rd party library that I license for HyperSnap. My favorite skin is "Windows 7", that way the program looks like all other programs on my machine.

I am also finding that switching between themes restores the menu texts, allows print screen capture, and re-sets all image tabs (where they all manage to pseudo-tile and glom around all each other, making an individual image difficult to see). This used to never happen in the past.

Another things I've noticed that I really am frustrated with is that in the older versions, once I set up shadows for all new images to be captured, those settings would remain even if I closed HyperSnap. That is no longer the case. It also still never remembers the last color I selected in the Draw Tools bar. Even if I select say red, then draw a shape or arrow or whatever, when I go capture another image, the "foreground or line color" always reverts back to black. How can I set defaults for any of these things (color, shadow, etc.)?

    Thanks,
    Ruth

Indeed the shape shadow option is reset after each restart of the program. Would have to change the code to remember it, if more users think this is important.
To preserve the colors between different images and across program restarts, not the small "pin" icon at the bottom of color panel in the "Edit" tab of the ribbon. If it's a horizontal pin, the colors are "un-pinned" and can be different for each image. Click it to make the pin vertical and keep the colors same.
