Close and minmize buttons disappear Thursday, January 05, 2012 11:33 AM (permalink)

Whenever I play a game in full screen, after I exit it, the minimize and close button disappear on the top right of Hypersnap. I have to close the program and re-open it for the buttons to re-appear.  Has anyone else run into this?

Please provide this additional data:
Exact HyperSnap version in use (from Help/About menu): __7.11.02____
Windows version in use: __7 64-bit____

Boofo,
which games cause this? I would need to reproduce the problem here in order to find a fix.

"Fishdom Frosty Splash" from BigFishgames is the one that gives me fits.

Ho Boofo,
I tried the game also on Win7, 64-bit, but had no problem. Maybe one particular "skin" of HyperSnap 7 poses this problem? Please look under "Setup" tab of HyperSnap 7 ribbon, click the "Skin" button and tell me which skin you were using. I tested the default Windows 7 skin. Please also tell me if HyperSnap 7 is opened in a window, maximized, minimized or hidden to the tiny icon in the system tray when this happens?

OK, I tried it with several skins and I see this happens if HyperSnap 7 is minimized to the system tray. You could leave HyperSnap 7 in an opened window to prevent this. I'll see if I can do something in the code to prevent this.

I thought the system tray was the default. Leaving the window open never occurred to me, but I like it hidden in the system tray out of the way until I am ready to use it. The fewer windows open, the better things stay organized. For me, anyway.

I am using the Windows 7 skin, by the way.

Hi,
this issue should now be fixed in HyperSnap 7.11.03. Please update our copy of HyperSnap 7 and let me know if all is OK.

No, sir, the new version still doesn't show the buttons after coming out of the full screen game.

Could you please double-check and confirm that you are running ver. 7.11.03, under "Help" - "About"? On my system it works correctly now, but I'll test on two other machines here as well to be sure.

Yes, sir, it is 7.11.03.  I am on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with the Aero desktop, if that helps at all.

OK, I can reproduce this too. Apparently when the game switches the desktop theme to "basic", HyperSnap does not get the same notifications as when I switch the mode manually. Will have to think some more about it.

I found a fix now. Please update your copy of HyperSnap 7 from "Help" - "Software Updates", even if it says you have the same version already installed. Then try again and let me know, but should be OK now.
