Another way for you to work around such issues, would be to add the license and INI file to HS7Setup.exe file itself. You could do this using WinRAR program.

Greg
Re:Win7 Silent Install (Jaxoat)

Okay, it looks like it was the UAC that was getting in the way. I failed to reboot after I made the change. Once I did, HS7 installed just fine with the license & ini.

What I think the issue is, the UAC places the app in a "safe place" which does not contain the license or ini file. I received a dialog pop up that makes me think that the above is the case. I'll be curious to see if this works when pushed out.

Hope that helps you in the future. Let me know if you need any additinal info. If you want a screen shot of the UAC box, let me know - I can send it to you.

Re:Win7 Silent Install (Jaxoat)

I just downloaded the updated version yesterday. What I show in the Help/About is 7.17.00. The files are:
HprSnap7.hs7lic
HprSnap7.ini

I can do a manual license install, but I'd rather not visit 200+ machines.

It works fine on my WinXP box, but it chokes on the Win7 box.
Re:Win7 Silent Install (Support)

Hi,
the correct file names, that should be placed in the same directory, from which you run HS7Setup.exe, are:

HprSnap7.hs7lic (the license key file)
HprSnap7.ini (the settings saved from a running instance)

If this is not working for you (please double-check), which version of HyperSnap 7 you are installing, exactly? It seems to still work when I test it with version 7.17...

Greg
Re:Win7 Silent Install (Jaxoat)

I put 2 separate requests in and I was wondering if you missed this one due to the first...
Win7 Silent Install (Jaxoat)

It seems in Win7, the license file (.lic) and settings file (.ini) are not being read when I install the app on a corporate system. I have ramped the UAC all the way down, but no change. Is it possible that corporate hardening is getting in the way? Is it possible to explicitly specify the license and settings files on the command line?

Also, as a side inquiry, assuming I can get the command line installation to work (see paragraph above), would it be correct to state that if HS7 is installed with the following command line that the license would be applied to all users:

HS7Setup.exe -allusers -autostart -nodeskico -s

<Addendum> I know it's supposed to read the files if they are located in the same folder, but whether the folder is on a network share or located on the computer hard drive, it is not reading either the license file nor the settings. The settings is a hassle, but the license file is a bit of a show stopper. We are wanting to push the app out corporately.

Thanks

Please provide this additional data:
Exact HyperSnap version in use (from Help/About menu): ___7.17___
Windows version in use: __Win7_64 Bit___
