I don't recall space bar ever working that way. It was always Page Up - Page Down keys to get the next/previous file in a folder.

Please provide this additional data: I remember Presentation Mode being able to go to the next file in the folder by hitting the space bar, I think, but I can't get it happen now. The Help system does not talk about this feature. Does it still exist?
