Edit Speech to skip text

I can't seem to get it to ignore the below text which can be found here near the top of the page: https://universalis.com/lauds.htm

I load the page, do a select all, and tap Read aloud.

In edit speech I have:
Type is case insensitive
Match whole words is not checked
Pattern is copied and pasted as below
Replace is left blank

The text I'm having a problem with is:

About Today · Readings at Mass · Office of Readings · Morning Prayer · Terce · Sext · None · Evening Prayer · Night Prayer · Yearly calendar · Universalis site · Settings · Tweet  · Show QR code
Get the app

Copying the text from a web page is the worst way of sending text to @Voice app for reading aloud. Simply open this page in any good web browser, e.g. Chrome. Then press the menu button in Chrome (3 dots at top-right) - press on Share function, then when a list of apps to share the page to appears, find and press @Voice icon. You will have the whole page, clean and ready for reading.

The next time you use Chrome for sharing a page to @Voice, you just press the menu button, then next to the "Share" function it will show the icon of the last app you shared to, in this case - @Voice icon. So press this icon on the menu and all is ready.

Cleaning page like you try to do with Edit speech function is not the correct approach either. It only works for smaller speech corrections, within one sentence.

:) As my 4 years old granddaughter says to me every day: "I told you so!"

Greg... Strangely, it now reads only one sentence at a time with a short pause after each. But if I revert back to the wrong way, doing a select all and then share, it highlights and reads a paragraph at a time. I have 0 ms of additional pause time and don't see anything that's causing this. Anxious for the remedy, Selvan

    Hello Selvan,
I now see that these pages are Psalms, therefore written as poems. Each line of the Psalms is encoded as a separate paragraph (actually <div> HTML element), so @Voice is treating each line as a separate sentence. If you already set the sentence and paragraph pauses to 0, there is no way of further reducing them. To me it gives a nice rhythm to the reading, like reciting a poem.

However, I understand that you may want to speed things up. What you did before - copying and pasting text, seems to work best to achieve this, because only the text is copied, and not the internal HTML tags that separate lines, so @Voice is combining them into one paragraph (like reading prose, not poetry...) I'm sorry that I don't have a better advise for you.

    Greg,

No worries, thank you for taking the time to look into it and share the findings. Wouldn't it be great if in this circumstance, Voice would sing it to us...:)

    Thanks again, Greg.
