Function for renumbering tabs with the same numbers

Hello, I have HyperSnap version 6 and version 8 (German) on my PC and have been using both with great satisfaction for years. Since I have to create many screenshots and save them in many different folders (sorting), it unfortunately happens more often that all my tabs (i.e. every screenshot) suddenly have the same names (Capture2599, Capture2599, Capture2599, etc.). I then have to rename them all individually in a very time-consuming and tedious way and then save them. Instead of being able to use the "Save all" function to a specific folder. A "renumbering function" or another solution would help a lot here. Does any of the newer versions have this? Are there other solutions to prevent this? Greetings Tom.

I'm running ver 8.17.00 (which I believe is the latest). I've never had your problem but I don't keep more than 20 or 30 tab snapshots open at one time. When I have a break of a few minutes between snaps I save the ones I have open, with the Save All, and then close those that have been saved. That way I don't lose them if there is a crash (i.e., blue screen, etc.)

If you go to the Capture Tab -> Capture Settings -> Quick Save tab, you can force Hypersnap to start creating new tabs with a specific number (like 1, 101, 1001, etc.) and increment by some number. You have to select "Automatically save each capture to a file", then select "Increment file name by " <and fill in the boxes>. Then create a new snapshot and save it to a file. Then you can select the Auto save each capture if you don't want that function (which I usually don't).

I'm not sure how the tabs with the same numbers appear. You could Capture Settings button on @Voice "Capture" ribbon tab - "Quick Save" tab within Capture Settings - define there automatic saving of each screen capture and you may define there also how to name your files and how to number them, e.g. increment number by one, start at specific number, stop at specific number (make this huge if you don't want to stop, e.g. 99999999) etc.

If you don't want to automatically save all captures, you can still define there the naming scheme, but turn on the option "Use the above naming for new captures even if not auto-saving", and turn off the "Automatically save..." option.

Hello, thanks to all for these tips. I did configure new like you did write. Nothing from the above was checked. So I did do it know. I also did see it worked with the new options only after restarting the program. I will test if the problem is solved then so far. Thanks again!
