Captured Photo Images Very Much Brighter Than the Original

I use Hypersnap to capture online photos and information in image form.  However, having changed nothing myself from within Hypersnap, recently when I have used in with some photos, the resulting captured image is WAY brighter than the original image, to the point of having many of the details whited out.  It doesn't happen all the time, nor to all the images on a given web page.

Is this something fixable on Hypersnap, or is it a problem at the website, or what?  As it stands, Hypersnap is only usable for my needs about half the time--and this change began a month or two ago.  Prior to that time, it was flawless.

Many thanks for your thoughts and suggestions.

Check maybe under the "Image" ribbon tab - Colors section - Correction button, if there is any brightness or contract or other adjustment set there, and the "Automatically apply to all captured images" is turned on. Turn it off and try again. If this is not it, try to uninstall HyperSnap 8 completely, then install it back from our web site, and re-enter your license key. This would reset all settings to the defaults. If still the problem persists, tell me where exactly you capture these photos from. I would need to reproduce the problem here in order to find a solution.

Thanks for the prompt reply.  Unfortunately, the "Correction" button was not activated within HyperSnap 8.  I did delete the program via the Control Panel and then download and install the 64 bit version from your web site, but in checking on a sample photo, the same thing happens when I try to capture the photo.  Note that it is not the case that it happens with every photo--maybe only about 50% of them.

Enclosed is the link to a sample image that is captured very much brighter than the original.  I don't see a way to upload a copy of the captured image for your comparison but will be glad to provide it by e-mail if you send an address.

    Many thanks.

I opened this page in Chrome browser, then used Region capture in HyperSnap - came out exactly as the original I see on the web page. Repeated with full screen view of this photo, same result. Are you using Chrome or some other browser, when you try to capture these images?
It could be also an issue with the graphics card driver in your computer. Check the web site of the computer manufacturer, or the maker of that graphics card, if they have any updates for the graphics card driver.

Hmmm.  Yes, I'm using Chrome.  The computer is a custom built new computer two weeks old, with a new graphic card and brand new drivers--nothing later is available.

    Any other ideas?

Again, all I can say is check with the graphics card manufacturer if they have an updated driver for this card and your version of Windows. Nothing else comes to mind, I have never heard otherwise of a similar problem from any other users...

Just an update:  I found that my new wide, curved monitor was set to HDR, and that was what was causing many captures with HyperSnap to appear very bright and washed-out.  Turned off the HDR and all was fine.

Thanks for giving it a try for me.

Interesting, I did not know about such problems. The monitor setting should not influence HyperSnap captures, unless the setting was somehow reflected in the graphics card settings.
