How to prevent app from reading html tags in uploaded articles

This is a recent problem. It occurs with pretty much everything I upload from the web suddenly.

It will read the html style tags. It won't show them unless i go to edit the text. But I am kind of sick of hearing it say "i" before and after italicized text.

    You have probably defined some speech replacements, under @Voice Settings menu - Edit speech, and some of them are incorrect and cause this problem. Disable them all and test reading aloud. It will work normally. Then, if you want, turn them one by one and test each time, until you find bad entries and delete them.

    Thanks! The problem has been resolved.

    I had set a rules that told it to ignore < and > at some point. (I think I was listening to old IRC chat transcripts at some point and the usernames were enclosed in them. Deleting those rules didn't work immediately but they did after I reloaded the article.

    The < and > characters (and a few more) are not typed directly in HTML text. Instead the code "&lt;" is used for < and "&gt;" for >. If you want to ignore them, your would need to replace &lt; and &gt; respectively.

    Is there somewhere I can find a list of all the punctuation mark code?

    It keeps saying "quote" at the end of some quotes now.

    Edit: sorry for being a dummy. I see its just html tags. But I suspect it may just be a seperate issue.

    The codes are Unicode standard codes, so any Unicode document could help. Also some HTML codes may be used, like &nbsp; for a non-breaking space (Unicode 0x00A0). To help better I would need examples of what you want to achieve, including the original text which is read aloud. It would be best to do this over email.
