Read copied text doesn't work

Hello, I just got a brand new phone and when I opened Voice aloud reader, I could no longer figure out how to have it speak the text just by simply hitting "copy" anymore. If someone can please help me figure this out, I would appreciate it. It makes reading aloud text messages a lot easier. Thank you

Automatic reading of copied text does not work on Android 10 and higher, due to security changes Google made in Android system. Now the app must be actually visible on the screen in order to access the copied text. Instead, simply copy text in any app, then pull down the notifications from the top, and press the round button at right in @Voice notification to open the copied text and start listening to it.

AGAIN: this is not a change we did, it's a change in Google policies and Android system, so we cannot change this in any way.
