Can't apply Image effects (e.g. Shadow) to objects (e.g. Callout, Text, etc)

I frequently will try to add a drop-shadow around features drawn on a captured image -- text boxes, call-outs, etc.

In older versions of Hypersnap I was able to add the feature (e.g. text box) then add a drop-shadow, and it added it around just that text box.  In HS8 I can't figure out a way to do this.  I've selected the object (e.g. Call-Out) then choose "Shadow", but the shadow ends up drawing around the entire image, not the selected object.

What to do?

Indeed, the Shadow button in the Image ribbon tab does not work for this. Instead click to select one or more shapes you have drawn, then right-click one of them, and on the menu that appears click "Toggle shadow".

Outstanding!  Thank you -- works like a champ.

I've loved Hypersnap since over 11 years ago, and love it even more today than ever before.  You guys rock!
