Questions about Filled Rectangle and Select Rectangle
I recently upgraded HyperSnap from 6.13.02 to 8.16.06.
I don't understand how to use the
Filled Rectangle tool in verison 8. I had no problem with it in version 6.
1. There doesn't seem to be a way to configure the filled rectangle with no border lines. If I want to draw a rectangle that matches the color of a particular area, I select the eye dropper and click on the point with the color I want to match. In version 6, that was enough. I could then draw a rectangle with the chosen color. In version 8, the rectangle will have a border with the background color, until I use the eye dropper again to set that background color to the foreground color.
Is there any way to use the Filled Rectangle with
no border? If not, why not? I never ever want a border.
2. When I draw the filled rectangle, I can extend the rectangle beyond the image margin. In version 6, the rectangle would be limited to the image margin. After all, it makes no sense for an edit of this nature to change the margin. I've not found any way to hide the overshoot other than by saving the image, closing it and then reopening it.
Is there any way to avoid having the filled rectangle overshoot the image margin? Once the overshoot is visible, is there any way to hide it without closing and reopening the image?
3. I'm having a problem with the
Select | Rectangular selection tool. If I select an area and then change my mind, how do I deselect the area? Is the only way to click on
View | Hide selected shapes?
Is there an easier way to deselect a selection, such as via some keyboard shortcut?
Any help will be appreciated. Right now, I'm tempted to reinstall version 6, which served me well for nearly a decade.
