The only case where I would adjust the volume at all, other than actively using the Volume slider in @Voice app bottom control panel, is if you enabled "Allow background music" option on the "Speech settings" screen, and actually was playing background music while listening to @Voice reading articles. I assume this is not the case either, so something else beyond my control is changing volume - maybe the TTS engine for example. Sorry that I can't help more.
