New Article Misreading

Hi!

First time post. The @Voice Aloud Reader is a great software! Love it!

Problem:
I have noticed that about 50% of the time the @Voice app transitions from one article to the next article, the first line of the previous article gets read instead of the first line of the second article.

So:

Article A -----> Finishes -----> Article B
Article B -----> Begins Reading Aloud -----> First Sentence of Article A is played -----> Second Sentence of Article B is played and continues with Article B.

This problem was also mentioned in one of the reviews in Google Play by someone else but it wasn't explained that well.

Anyways, I thought I would mention it.

Thanks for the great app!

Interesting, I have never noticed anything like this. Which version of @Voice app, and under which Android version? Did you notice any pattern on which articles it happens? Also, is @Voice app used with ads, or with the paid license without ads? Need to know this only to figure out if ads could interfere in some way... Which TTS voice is in use, exactly?

Also, I did not recall so far any similar report from other users.

    Hi,

I read the review from someone else a couple weeks back. This @Voice app is so popular, I can't find the review after a quick look. The review was really didn't explain the issue that well. I understood what they were saying since I had the same problem.

The version of the @Voice app I am using is the ads version under Android 6.0.1.
After thinking for a while, I didn't notice any patterns with the roughly 50% occurrence.
TTS is: Use our Voice Manager, English, Google, U.S., en-us-x-sfg#female_2
I have used 3 other TTS with no change.

I have observed this for the last 6+ months, through all the updates to the @Voice add version. It wasn't really a huge issue for as it only affects one sentence.

I will try to uninstall/reinstall to see it changes anything. I will observe it for a week and let you know if reinstall changes anything.

I've been wanting to upgrade to the @Voice paid version since I use the app all the time. A different forum post has recently resolved the issue of @Voice playing during a phone call, so I have nothing holding me back to upgrade, so I will upgrading soon.

I really cannot reproduce this. Went through several articles on my reading list and all reads correctly... What graphics do you see on the round button at bottom - left? It is the "Repeat" button, please describe this graphics - by default two curved arrows crossed with X, means do not repeat anything. What do you see there? Then press this button several times until "Repeat: off" sign appears, try again.

Also look at menu - Settings - Speech settings - what are all the setting selected there? Maybe if I set them the same as you, I'll be able to reproduce the problem...

    Hi,

I reinstalled it and it took a while to repeat the process.

The graphics at the bottom are:

    1.    Repeat (With X)
    2.    << (back)
    3.    > (play or pause)
    4.    >> (forward)
    5.    Uparrow

So I repeated it this morning. What happened was, when I get to the end of the article, usually there is a bunch of stuff I don't want to listen to so I hit the     >> (forward) button    a few times to get to the next article.

When I hit the >> button on the last sentence of Article A, then the fist sentence of Article A will repeat in Article B.

(**However, in the past this has still occurred without me hitting the >> forward button. But after the reinstall/new updates I cannot replicate it.)

I tested it a few times with different articles using >> to get to the next article and every time the error would appear. Hope this helps.

OK, I think I managed to reproduce this by clicking the >> button as you do. However, to go to the next article on the list anytime, just long-press this button (press and hold for about 1 second or slightly longer), then it should not do this. I'll try to eliminate this repeat of the first sentence of current article anyway.

I think I fixed it now in version 12.00.01, now in beta-test channel. If you want, switch to receiving beta-tests of @Voice from Google Play at https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.hyperionics.avar
    Thank you!

    Hi,

I received the update today and the problem doesn't appear anymore.

Last week I started using the non-ad version (paid version). I like how it transitioned all of my settings from the ad/free version and it is pretty much the same app.
