Screen capture magnifies image

I've just been assigned a new laptop with Windows 10. I used HyperSnap in the past with no issues at all. Now, however, when I capture a page, the image gets magnified and I cannot scroll across or down the page to get the entire region I'd like to capture. I can't find a setting to avoid this magnification. Can anyone help?

You are probably using an old version of HyperSnap? Version 7 or 6 or even older? They are not quite compatible with Windows 10, please download a free trial of HyperSnap 8 and see if the latest version works correctly for you.

I just checked and it is Release 6. Is there a way to upgrade the current version I have from within the product? I got this version from our corporate website that controls the software that's available and we can install, and I'm not sure I am permitted to download directly from your site.

You can download a free trial at anytime from http://www.hyperionics.com/?Page=hsdx/downloads.asp page, but I don't know if your corporate firewall will let you do this. However, HyperSnap 8 upgrade is not free, the upgrade price is about 50% of a new purchase, see http://www.hyperionics.com/?Buy=1.

I am seeing this same behavior on windows 10 and the latest version of Hypersnap 8. Any other suggestions?

Usually rebooting your computer fixes this issue, or at least logging off and on again.

I have rebooted and tried logging in and out several times. This is on a surface book and I only recall this behavior when using the laptop monitor. I dont remember seeing this when an external monitor is used. I need to double check this though.

In this case I really don't know what happens there. The last resort, see if there is any update to the graphics card driver for this device...

NOTE: I initially posted this in the Unwanted "zoom" effect while making a capture (everything gets bigger on the screen) thread

I recently encountered this problem after receiving a new laptop with Windows 10 to replace my old Windows 7 one.  HyperSnap 6 worked great on my old laptop and HyperSnap 8 has not yet been made available to us an upgrade option and this problem basically rendered the software unusable for my needs.

With that said, I was able to work around the problem by disabling the display scaling on high DPI settings for the HyperSnap application (steps documented below).

1. Navigate to the folder where the HprSnap6.exe is located

2. Right-click on the executable and select "Properties"

3. Select the "Compatibility" tab

4. Select "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"

5. Click Apply and OK

Thank you for letting us know about your work-around! Will try it too, see how it works on my setup.

I was able to overcome the issue of a magnified image by some changes in the Windows Display Settings (right click on Windows Desktop).

By default on my new Windows 10 Laptop, I had the following setting: Screen and Layout: 150%
This was the "recommended" setting.

I changed it 100% and then HyperSnap started working fine.

Hope this helps!
