Start with Windows grayed out and Hypersnap doesn't start with Windows

I'm using Windows 10, Version 1703 and I'd like Hypersnap 8 (latest version--just updated) to start with Windows (the first two options in Startup), but the options in Startup are grayed out and Hypersnap doesn't start with the computer. I've also selected Always Start Minimized, press Escape to Minimized the Main Window, and Display System Tray icon, hide taskbar when minimized. The other two options are not selected.

I don't know why this option is grayed out on your device. Maybe it has something to do with permissions, the program cannot save the shortcut into C:\Users\[user_name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

You or your system administrator would need to review the security settings to change this. You could also run HyperSnap 8 "as Administrator" user yourself and see if then you can set this option.

So, you sent me in the right direction, but, it was a "manual" fix. I'm the only user and therefore the admin, so, I gave full permissions to \AppData\Roaming. I then started Hypersnap "as administrator" and, as you noted, I was able to set the option. However, even with the option set, things "didn't work." That is, Hypersnap didn't place a shortcut in the Startup folder.

So, I copied the HyperSnap shortcut into the Startup folder (using the long path you gave me above--thank you very much ) and restarted the computer. Lo and behold--Hypersnap loaded along with Windows.

Problem solved--thanks so much!

Actually there are two different places for "Startup" folder, and probably many other things on start menu. The "C:\Users\[user_name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\" is for single user menu options. If running as administrator, HyperSnap 8 is probably setting the shortcut elsewhere, somewhere under C:\ProgramData\... It's so darn complex...
