Unable to install

Hi,
I just purchased HS8 and when I double click the installer on Win 7, it says would you like to install, I press yes and then it disappears.  Is there a workaround for this issue?

Thanks

Not sure what could be the issue. Do you know if your Windows 7 system is 32-bit or 64-bit system? You could find out under Control Panel - System icon. If you have a 64-bit system, you could download either the 64-bit or 32-bit version of HyperSnap 8 from our downloads page (https://www.hyperionics.com/?Page=hsdx/downloads.asp), and both should install and work correctly. If you have a 32-bit system, only 32-bit version of HyperSnap 8 would work there, so make sure to download the correct version.

Another thing to try would be to reboot the computer and try installing again. Sometimes the system becomes unstable, and rebooting it improves things.

Finally, examine all the logs of your anti-virus software. Sometimes anti-virus products have 'false positive' errors, flag good files as infected by a virus and prevent them from running. It could be the case here. Try to refresh the anti-virus database of such product (false positive errors are usually fixed within 1 - 3 days by the companies providing AV products), and if that does not help, there is often an option in AV product to tell them the file they mistakenly flag as infected is actually safe. It's also good to report a false positive to AV makers to let them fix the issue faster.

    Hi both,
Thank you for your replies.  The .exe does not open at all.  I had been trying to install the x64 version on my x64 machine, but the x32 will also not run.  It is on a company managed PC so I am assuming that this could be a factor affecting it.  As hence, the antivirus can't be temporarily disabled for installation either.

I'll update you if I get any further with it.

    Cheers
    Will

Seems like an issue for local system administrators, they should help you install the app.
