Capture a .wmv file

I paused a video (.wmv file), and when I try to hypersnap the pause image on the
screen, the image goes black. I tried to hypernsap a word file, and that works
fine. Please assist in how to capture a .wmv using hypersnap 8. Thanks.

This is because the video is playing in a "hardware overlay", a technique your video card and player are using to accelerate video playback and make it smoother. Try to see if in your video player software you can temporarily disable "acceleration", "Overlay use" or similar options to make the capture. If not, see if old software named "FRAPS" is still available somewhere on the WWW, it was able to capture such things.
