Is there a way to crop using a specified pixel box?

I have come across a situation where I need to crop images to 800-pixel x 480 pixel areas.
It's extremely tedious to try to do using the standard start-end cropping rectangle.

Is there a way to specify a cropping rectangle in pixels and then drag the rectangle around to where you want the 800x480 area so you don't have to calculate and what-you-see-is-what-you-get?

Thanks.

Yes, there is. On the Capture ribbon tab, look into the "Region Setup" part - click into the box that says "Size: Any" and select 640x480, or anything you want. Then use the Region capture command (Ctrl+Shift+R) to capture from the screen the rectangle of exactly that size. You can open your original images in any image viewing software. If you want to re-capture them from HyperSnap window itself, in-check the "Hide window" option on the "Capture" ribbon tab, so that HyperSnap window is not hidden when you capture screen.

That's for capturing at screen resolution instead of cropping at image resolution isn't it?

I have a photo/image that HyperSnap says is 800x600 when I open it.
When I set a capture region of 800x480 as you suggested, the capture rectangle is wider than the 800 width of the image.
(This is on a 1600x900 laptop screen.)

Set magnification to 100% in HyperSnap to see the image in its natural size. Otherwise it may show your image in enlarged or reduced size to fit it into its window. If upon pressing the region capture hot keys or starting region capture in any other way it seems that everything on your screen is getting larger, you are probably using an old version 7, or one of the earlier versions 8.xx of HyperSnap under Windows 7, 8 or 10. In such case it's best to upgrade to the latest version 8 of HyperSnap, which is fully aware off all new versions of Windows screen resolution settings.

Thanks.  I was going back and forth between v7 and v8 and had the latest versions of them installed but I never paid any attention to the Zoom setting since the cropping tool was giving me pixel-count coordinates.
Anyway, I just uninstalled v7.  Not sure now why I still had it installed.
