Extended Monitor Capturing only covers Top left portion of second screen

Hi,
My Hypersnap version is the latest - 8.06.04 (64bit).

I use a secondary screen an extended monitor to my laptop, using either HDMI out or VGA out or Usb. When I use the Hypersnap Capture region option the capturing box locks when its covering about one quarter of the second screen. If i hit print screen it also only covers the region it extends to only.

So i always have to shut-down hypersnap and use print screen to capture both screens and then open HS and Paste as New Image to locate the areas from my second screen.

Has this been observed elsewhere please? Any help is appreciated. This is becoming a lot of pain as i write lot of technical documentation and its becoming very annoying at times.

Thanks in advance
Sanj

Is your second screen working under some magnification, e.g. 200% of the normal size? And which version of Windows it is?

Also, by the "capturing box" do you mean the help text that shows which keys you can press to do things, and a small magnified view of the screen around the mouse pointer? If so, it can be hidden by pressing F1 key twice.

    Hi Greg,
    Thanks for the quick response.
The Second window is working on a different resolution - if that's what you mean by magnification. This is Windows 8.1.

When I select Capture Region, it shows cross hairs and when i click on top left place to start capture, the cross hairs turns to a box which outlines the region, which i drag across to highlight the area of capture of my choice. Either the cross hairs or the box (marking the region) wouldn't go beyond about a quarter of the second screen from top left.

    Many thanks

Did you try to reboot your computer or log off and on again, since you set the different resolution for the second monitor? If not, please try it and let me know if the problem persists.
