Black Screen Appears in Hypersnap

I had the following problem in August 2015 and someone at this site helped resolve it. All was working fine for over 4 years, but the problem has resurfaced. Note: My security product is Kaspersky, same as it was 4 years ago,  and Hypersnap is in the list of trusted applications.
 
"Hyper Snap starts okay but when I click on a capture selection (region, full page, etc) the entire screen goes black.  All I see are the white cross hairs.  If I depress "esc" it returns me to the application, but the capture is a black square.  This just started a few days ago.  Any troubleshooting advice is most appreciated.  I use this program constantly and need to get the issue resolved.  I have version 7. "

    It's a problem with your Internet "Security" product, please consult its manual and tell it that HyperSnap is safe program and is allowed to make screen captures...

    If the preview window is also black but the VM window is not, then the VM must be using video overlays for rendering, in which case the picture isn't in the PC, it's in the host graphics card. For more details about writing you can use site.
