command "Activate hotkeys" does not work globally when minimized... bugfix any workaround?

Hi,

It seems, that the menu command "Activate hotkeys" does not work globally, even if the option [Make this hotkey active even when main window is minimized] is enabled (look at the screenshot).

Is it a bug or intentional behaviour? If the last is correct, is there any workaround to enable/disable all HyperSnap screen capture global hotkeys?

Thanks!

Please click the "Capture" ribbon tab at the top, then look at the column of check-boxes near the right side of the ribbon. They have these items to check on or off:

Want cursor
Hide window
Hotkeys on
Extra delay

You need a check-box in "Hotkeys on" box for them to work globally. The command "Activate hot keys" should not be assigned a global-hot key at all though. It may work to turn off hot keys (as this command works as a toggle), but will not work to activate them again, because when hot keys are inactive, no command will be executed through key combinations when the program is not the "active window".

Hi Greg!

Thank you, now I see, what's the problem.

However I supposed, that HyperS should handle the [Activate hotkeys] commands globally other way, than screen capture commands/hotkeys. That is Hypersnap internal command "Disable all hotkeys" shoud apply to all global hotkeys, excepting the command [Activate hotkeys] itself. Just due the fact, that if disabling all commands applies to this command too, we will not be able enable hotkeys later with a global hotkey, just as you pointed to.

Is there any workaround? May be some command-line parameter, wich restarts HyperSnap and /or enables hotkeys (if they are currently disabled)? If it is possible, some Windows shortcut or AutoHotkey script etc should resolve the problem.

Hi Greg!

Have you had a couple of minutes to consider my suggestion/feature request?
Thanks!

I really don't want to make one "special hotkey" to activate all other hotkeys... It's too messy from the code point of view, and no other user requested such feature so far.

Well, this is a thing I can understand. Actually I did not guess, that this task might be somehow complex to implement, because it seems so simple for such a diletant as I am.

This is quite strange for me... A regular user usually does not need a screenshot application all the time.
So it seems to be reasobable to hold HyperSnap's hotkeys in disabled mode most of time and to enable them manually only when they are actually needed to make a screenshot. This way we can use the same hotkeys, which HyperSnap uses globally, as a local hotkeys in many different applications or as a global hotkey for some all-the-time working app or service etc.
